ABOUT US
The Gulf Coast Bluegrass Music Association (GCBMA) is a non-profit organization founded and based in Pace, Florida since 1993. The founders’ goal was and is to ensure that all music lovers have the opportunity to experience real, live, traditional Bluegrass music, which is fondly referred to around here as “True American Music.” The GCBMA proudly sponsors music festivals and concerts featuring local, regional, and national bluegrass performers.
The GCBMA meets on the 4th Saturday of each month in the Student Activity Center (Building 4200) at Pensacola Junior College’s Milton campus with entertainment provided by two GCBMA member bands followed by old-fashioned jam sessions throughout the building. While the GCBMA is a non-profit organization, a small admission fee is collected at the door to pay the bands that perform at each meeting. The fee amounts are $3 per person for Association Members, and $5 per person for non-members. PJC’s Alpha Beta Gamma chapter provides food and drink concessions at each meeting, with the proceeds going to such worthy causes as the local Ronald McDonald House. The GCBMA also contributes to a music scholarship at the college.
